I have a University degree in English Language and Literature from Madrid University and a University degree also from Queen's University (Belfast - United Kingdom) in English Language and Literature. I have been a member of the teaching profession in the UK for over 25 years and during that time became Head of the Spanish and of the Modern Languages Department in a local Catholic Grammar School. Last year I retired from the teaching profession and since then I have been putting my native language, my qualifications and linguistic experience to translation work. > Relevant Translation Experience: I have been translating a website and a monthly news paper for the English speaking community of a town called Álora in the province of Málaga (Spain) from Spanish into English. This type of translation work has given me experience in many different topics: aromatherapy, religious and literary articles, history, community interest reports such as transport, town planning or art exhibitions, party political manifests and so many more. I teach Spanish at Queen's University of Belfast and they often use my services as interpreter. I have worked, in that capacity, for the Belfast City Hall several times and for the Michelin Tyre Company. > Education: I was born and educated in Madrid (Spain) where I attended University and gained a Degree in English Language and Literature. I then went to study in the UK (Belfast-Northern Ireland) where I obtained another degree in Spanish Language and Literature that enabled me to enter the teaching profession there and where I have lived and taught for over 25 years. > Additional Skills: I have developed, over many years, excellent organizational skills and I am well experienced in working to meet very tight and demanding professional deadlines.
